AIRCRAFT INSPECTION AND SCHEDULED MAINTAINANCE
We can provide aircraft inspections for permit renewal or issue, along with full maintenance services of an aircraft or simply assist the owner with any servicing they are carrying out themselves.
All required schedule maintenance and complex tasks are carried out in accordance with LAA/BMAA/CAA maintenance schedules, and tailored maintenance programs (which we can also create). We always provide top quality service when working on any aeroplane as we fully understand the importance of safety and airworthiness of your aircraft.
Depending on your type of aircraft and the airfield of operation, we can advise on specific maintenance items right for you and your operation. If you would like to discuss your particular requirements, we would be happy to give any technical or operational advice.

AIRCRAFT REPAIRS AND RESTORATION
Blackstone Aviation has a wealth of experience of repairing and restoring vintage, exotic and unusual aircraft and staff with over 35 years of experience in the aircraft industry. There is nothing better than getting an aircraft back in the air having been told it was impossible. The more difficult the restoration task the better the satisfaction when the customer flies the aircraft. Even if a restoration or repair has been started and has stopped or unfortunately the project has stalled, we can make an assessment of the airframe and engine and come up with a project plan to ultimately get the aircraft back into the air.
We can locate potential aircraft projects for owners and carry out any required survey's to ensure that any particular project has restoration potential.
AVIONICS/INSTRUMENT
REPAIRS AND INSTALLATION
Blackstone Aviation can install avionic systems, instruments or just a singular VHF 8.33khz radio, in new build stage aircraft or upgrade obsolete equipment.
In the restoration of vintage aircraft it is important to keep the historical integrity of the subject aircraft but it is equally important to conform with the current airworthiness requirements of the CAA.
To this end, Blackstone Aviation can sympathetically install avionics and instruments that are the right fit for your aircraft and blend into your aircraft.
BULLDOG MAINTAINANCE AND RESTORATION
Blackstone Aviation has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the maintenance and restoration of Scottish Aviation Bulldogs.

As a Scottish Aviation Bulldog specialist of all marks of the type, we are able to offer permit renewals, IFR/Night flying approvals, insurance repairs and, if required, a complete restoration.

If needed we can find difficult to find parts or provide alternative solutions to keep your aircraft in the air.

TIGER MOTH MAINTENANCE AND RESTORATION
Blackstone Aviation are Tiger Moth Specialists and currently oversee the persistent maintenance of two locally based Tiger Moths at Tiger Flights, Northumberland.

Blackstone Aviation has a wealth of experience working on Tiger Moth Aircraft and has undertaken all required courses and learnt the complexities and niches of this type.
AIRCRAFT SALES AND BROKERAGE
Blackstone Aviation understands the aircraft market which can be difficult to navigate and can source aircraft for customers dependent on your requirements. This includes restoration projects and aircraft that do not always come onto the open market. If required we can also locate hard to find aircraft parts, both airframe and engine.

UNUSUAL TYPES
At Blackstone Aviation we have a wealth of knowledge on exotic, vintage and unusual aircraft types of all complexities.
We are specialists on Bulldogs, Moths, Safirs and very uncommon aircraft such as Kragujs and Utvas. Because of this vast range of different systems from all metal to wood, we are able to adequately provide our services for more unusual and complicated aircraft.
PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTIONS
Pre-purchase inspections can be done to ensure the aircraft you are looking to buy is airworthy with the certification and engineering analysis to support that.

Project pre-purchase inspections can also be undertaken to asses the state of an aircraft, the potential faults and to estimate the cost the project would take to complete.
We check that all paperwork is completed and up to date, without any oversights on problems that may appear subsequently.
